Medicines in Our Database

How It Works

  1. Search for a medicine by name or brand
  2. View its full ingredient list with halal status for each excipient
  3. Read scholar rulings from four madhabs (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali)
  4. Find halal-certified alternatives where available

About This Tool

The Halal Medicine Checker examines not just active ingredients but also excipients — fillers, coatings, and capsule materials — which are the most common source of non-halal ingredients in Western medicines. Common problematic excipients include gelatin (often from porcine sources), magnesium stearate (can be animal-derived), and ethanol-based coatings.
